CPAGA's next Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 7 November 2021 at 11 am in the John Gray Centre. All plotholders and garden members are welcome!

The Shop and kitchens will close just before 11.00 am on the day of the meeting.

The agenda is as follows, and is similar to that at previous Annual General Meetings:

  1. Apologies for absence

  2. Minutes of the last Annual General Meeting, Sunday 5 May 2019

  3. Matters arising

  4. Reports from Chair (in lieu of Trading Manager), Secretary and Treasurer

  5. Election of Officers and Independent Examiner: President Vice President Chair Vice Chair Secretary Treasurer Trading Manager Independent Examiner

  6. Election of other Committee Members

  7. Any Other Business - questions and discussion

A cautionary tale has reached us via Brighton and Hove Allotment Federation: their author reports that if courgette plants are hybridised or water-stressed they can sometimes contain a poison called 'Cucurbitacin E', apparently giving the courgettes a bitter taste. Other plants can be affected similarly (bitter cucumbers have been cited - see link).

The Committee plans to reopen the Sunday Shop from 23 May 2021. Can you help? Email contact@cpaga.co.uk.

The Shop runs on pairs of volunteers, who open it from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on a Sunday morning.

If enough plotholders are willing to give up a couple of hours every once in a while, the Shop can be available to the whole Site throughout the season, offering a convenient range of allotment essentials at low prices.

You don't have to be experienced to help. You'll quickly learn the ropes from experienced hands.
